엔믹스의 세번째 EP 'FE304: STICK OUT'에 대해서 리뷰해보려고 합니다.

Fe3O4: STICK OUT 

세 번째 시리즈 ‘Fe3O4’의 두번째 이야기 ‘STICK OUT’ 

소녀들은 현실 세계 FIELD에 머무르며 유토피아란 우리가 치열하게 고민하며 직접 만들어가야 하는 공간임을 깨닫는다. 더 많은 사람들과 함께 믹스토피아에 가기 위해 NMIXX는 FIELD에서 우리를 한계 짓고 구분 짓는 관념과 관행에 도전한다. 
그 두 번째 도전인 세상을 향한 소녀들의 STICK OUT. 

우리가 직접 만드는 유토피아: 세상에 나와 너를 온전히 드러내는 

벽을 부순 NMIXX는 세상에 자신을 드러낸다. 스테레오타입과는 거리가 먼 소녀들의 개성은 어떤 이들에게는 튀어나온 나사못처럼 거슬리고 걸리적거린다. 그들은 소녀들을 보며 혀를 차지만, 쉽게 흔들리지 않는다. 저 하늘의 별처럼 뾰족뾰족하지만 반짝이는 자기 자신을 있는 그대로 사랑하기로 마음먹었기 때문이다. 
때문에 소녀들은 청개구리처럼 굴고, 두더지처럼 계속해서 튀어나온다. 자신의 세계를 보여주는 것을 부끄러워하지 않는다. 자신이 누구인지를 잃지 않는다. 

그러니 당신도 당신의 뾰족한 부분을 부러뜨릴 필요도, 자를 필요도 없다. 소녀들은 당신의 뾰족뾰족하지만 반짝이는 부분을 분명 사랑할 테니까.

RATING

1번째 트랙부터 올트스쿨 느낌이 나더라구요.

엔믹스의 믹스팝 중에 믹스의 타협점을 가장 잘 찾은 음악 같네요.

물론 아직 이질적인 부분이 남아있긴 합니다.

올드스쿨 힙합 버젼으로 계속 끌고 가는게 더 좋을 것 같다는 생각도 항상 하구요.

 

그래도 곡의 퀄리티는 꾸준히 우상향하고 있기 때문에

나중엔 정말 완성된 믹스팝을 들을 수 있을 것 같다는 기대감을 가지게 해줍니다.

 

2번은 완전 힙합으로 가져왔네요.

규진이 이 곡에선 정말 잘합니다.

톤이 엄청 좋네요.

 

키드밀리가 들어와서 다행입니다.

뜬금없지 않고 굉장히 노래를 잘 살려준 느낌..

 

3번, 4번 들으면서 느끼기도 했고 엔믹스 노래를 들으면 항상 느끼는건데..

솔직히 믹스팝보단 아직 그냥 평범한 노래가 좋습니다.

항상 수록곡이 더 좋은 느낌..

돈 쓴 티는 타이틀에 나는데

플리에 넣으라고 하면 무조건 수록곡을 넣을 것 같아요.

 

5번 6번 트랙도 멜로디를 편안하게 가져가면서

콘서트에서 들으면 좋을 것 같은 느낌이네요.

6번이 조금 멜로디를 꼬아보려고 노력해본 시도는 느껴집니다.

 

아쉬운 점은 엔믹스는 개인적으로 너무 특색이 없습니다.

역설적이죠? 믹스팝이라는 자신만의 장르가 있는데 말이죠..

믹스팝으로 엔믹스의 음악색을 잡기엔 아직까진 물음표가 드는게 사실입니다.

더 대중이 찾아들을만한 방향으로 발전시켜야합니다.

이 앨범이 이 물음표를 타파하기엔 설득력이 부족해요...

 

노래는 잘 뽑혔지만 엔믹스를 완벽히 나타내진 못했다는 생각이 드네요.
