오늘은 2024년 7월 19일 발매된 

STRAY KIDS(스트레이 키즈)의 미니 9집 'ATE'에 대해서 리뷰해보려고 합니다.

[앨범 소개]

8개월 만에 발매하는 신보 앨범명 'ATE'는 올여름 국내외 음악 시장을 씹어 먹겠다는 스트레이 키즈만의 당찬 포부와 기세를 담고 있다. 타이틀곡 'Chk Chk Boom'을 필두로 'MOUNTAINS'(마운틴스), 'JJAM'(쨈), 'I Like It'(아이 라이크 잇), 'Runners'(러너스), '또다시 밤', 'Stray Kids', 'Chk Chk Boom (Festival Ver.)'(칙칙붐 (페스티벌 버전))까지 총 8곡이 수록돼 리스너들의 플레이리스트를 풍성하게 채운다. 방찬, 창빈, 한으로 구성된 그룹 내 프로듀싱 팀 3RACHA(쓰리라차)의 진두지휘 하에 전곡을 완성했고 필릭스는 5번 트랙 'Runners' 작사, 작곡에 참여해 음악성을 뽐냈다.

 

타이틀곡 'Chk Chk Boom'은 원하는 목표를 누구보다 완벽하게 정조준하는 스트레이 키즈의 이유 있는 자신감을 담았다. "승리를 너무 과식했지 배불러", "내 행보는 여전히 그다음 level에만 대입해"처럼 위풍당당한 가사가 리스너들에게도 짜릿한 에너지를 전하고, 라틴풍 힙합 리듬 위 중독성 있는 루프와 나른하고 독특한 탑라인으로 반복 재생을 자극할 예정이다.

RATING

타이틀부터 보자면 라틴 느낌이 나는 힙합 비트에

스트레이키즈 느낌 물씬 나는 멜로디를 올렸는데요.

솔직히 훅의 반복되는 루프가 매력적으로 느껴지진 않았습니다.

그러다보니 훅의 중독성도 그 전의 노래들보단 덜 하다고 생각했습니다.

 

전체적으로 강력한 신스를 활용한 노래가 많지만 사운드 자체를 잘 잡아서

듣기 불편한 노래는 전혀 없었습니다.

 

개인적으론 7번 트랙인 Stray kids가 가장 맘에 드네요.

스트레이 키즈 팬도 아니지만 뮤비를 보면서 보면 팬들은 굉장히 뭉클할 것 같습니다.

애초에 노래 분위기도 그걸 노리고 만들어진 것 같고요.
